Evident belongs to the younger generation of electronic musicians. Born at the end of the Yugoslavian era into newly established Slovenia. Fast forward a few years and he became one of its most interesting representatives, hailing from the Balkan region.
Since his first booth experience in 2012, he continuously surprised with the ever-changing variety of club sounds. In recent years he remained influenced by the artistic, melancholic and explorative side of electronic music, while also staying firmly connected to the club core, that for him resides in between house and techno.
But moments when everything slows down and gets fused with atmospheres, instruments and vocal obscurities – are the one that leaves most memorable experiences. They usually happen at one of his live sets and stand as a good example of what’s possible, when there is a chance to break away from the standard direction. As an extension of this mindset, he started his own digital label Sounditectures in 2014, where he regularly releases his own music and music from friends.
After numerous chances to play them on the same nights & stages as Mike Servito, Johannes Heil, Richard Davis, Will Saul, Larsson, Fred P, Phil Weeks, Funkineven, youANDme, Chymera, Jan Blomqvist and many others, he developed a sense for DJing, which he was able to showcase in clubs and festivals in neighbouring countries.
As one of the founders of SolvdMag – a webzine dedicated to encouraging electronic community in the Balkans and beyond – he’s lately closely associated with successful SOLVD events. In 2016 he became a monthly resident at the legendary Klub K4 in Ljubljana. SOLVD is currently running season two in Klub K4 where they present the best of local, global and Balkan talent – such as Phil Weeks, Kristijan Molnar, Mariano Mateljan, Sakro, Jogarde, Julian Sandre, Jack Wickham, Andrea Ljekaj and others.
In early 2017 he released an album Mysteries We Don’t Have Time To Think About. Fifteen tracks heavy – album goes from ambient beginnings and slow-paced electronica, to break infused house and to classier deep-tech rhythms. This is the first album is Evident’s discography that includes rare originals and remixes – mostly released via his own label Soundhitectures. It also includes two remixes for label mate Timo Chinala and a remix for Russian artist Azamat on Moscow based Slowdance and a lot of music released under different aliases, most notably under Lustful Truth and techno-oriented re_balance. Apart from that, he started a regular monthly podcast named Concrete Jungle in summer 2017 which is available through his SoundCloud channel.
